Emerson Fittipaldi may return to race

Emerson Fittipaldi may return to race. Yeah, you didn't read it wrong, the successful brazilian driver may return to the track, and it can be this year.

Rumours point to a return driving LMP2 machinery in the 6 Hours of São Paulo, last round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, and the race which is promoted by Fittipaldi.

Nothing is confirmed at the moment, but one of the hints of Emerson's return was the addition of his name in FIA Driver Ratings list, where he's ranked as a bronze driver, mostly because of his age, as the two-time F1 champion is now 67 years old.

Other thing that is expected is that Emerson's car may have an all-brazilian lineup, probably with other family members, like United Sportscar Championship winner Christian.

The last time an ex-F1 driver had the whole lineup with family members in a sportscar race was in the 2010 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, when Nigel Mansell put his sons Greg and Leo at the wheel of the Beechdean-Mansell Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S LMP1.
