Phantom Global chooses Ferrari for 2027

In 2027, Phantom Global Racing will move to a new chapter in their sportscar racing history, with the Chinese team becoming a Ferrari customer team and expanding to more programs outside of GT3 racing.

According to the team’s announcement, the move will see them using multiple examples of the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, and along with this, they will also have a program in Ferrari Challenge, with support set to be offered around the whole East Asia.

Ferrari will be the fourth manufacturer that Phantom Global uses in GT3 racing, as well in GT racing in general, as they moved to Audi after a handful of years using Mercedes machinery in China GT and GT World Challenge Asia. Eventually, their program expanded to a split effort with Audi and Porsche, following a setup that’s still used by Absolute Racing as they works with multiple manufacturers too, but the teams opts to go outside the Volkswagen group again to dedicate themselves to a single OEM.

Phantom Global follows a trend as Absolute Corse, Harmony Racing, Climax Racing and FIST Team AAI also use at least one example of the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, either in GTWC Asia or in China GT, and some of them even appear at the Suzuka 1000km, the Asian round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, and with Ferrari teams from Japan also appearing in two of these three series, it is clear how big is the Ferrari Corse Clienti support in the Asian continent.

The team explained that lineups and competitions where the Ferraris will appear will be announced at a later date.
