Starting in front tends to be an immense advantage at the Circuito da Guia in Macau, and Antonio Fuoco made the most of it to lead a 1-2 for Ferrari in the FIA GT World Cup Qualifying Race, while Yifei Ye did the biggest work by containing the opposition.
There was a lot of bumping and barging until Lisboa, with Antonio Fuoco being protected by Yifei Ye from the threat of Raffaele Marciello and Alessio Picariello, and when Marciello’s pressure failed, he lost the third position to the Belgian driver.
Around the third lap, everybody was chasing Ye while Fuoco was going away with the lead, but given that Picariello couldn’t get slipstream from Ye, the chase just kept going on and on without any progress, and even Marciello lost contact as no one could mount and attack on Ye.
Without any threats around as Ye was keeping them at bay, Fuoco just had to bring the car home with more than two seconds ahead of Ye, while Picariello completed the podium.
