Team BRM and Realta Tigani win in GTWC Australia weekend at The Bend

GT World Challenge Australia
still needs to decide the Pro-Am Cup title holders for 2025, and with the wins at The Bend being split between the No. 268 Team BRM Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II of Mark Rosser and Alex Peroni and the No. 66 Realta/Tigani Mercedes AMG GT3 of Jayden Ojeda and Paul Lucchitti, the pieces are falling into Eliott Schutte and Jaxon Evans’ direction.

Race 1 had the No. 1 Volante Rosso Aston Martin asserting domination after winning the run to Turn 1, in special because the No. 888 Kelso MPC Audi lost the second position to the No. 268 Team BRM Audi, with Mark Rosser starting immediately the chase to Liam Talbot.

Things were set for a status quo until the No. 1 found grass and gravel with some damage as an extra, and the same went for the No. 181 OnlyFans MPC Audi, which spun on the grass after going wide, essentially handing the Am Cup lead to the No. 47 Supabarn Tigani Mercedes.

The pit window didn’t change the lead but opened the battle for second, as the No. 26 Arise Ferrari got into second place, but Broc Feeney kept the No. 888 clear in the mirrors of the No. 26, but once they settled in their places, Feeney lost contact with Jaxon Evans.

With the No. 26 Arise Ferrari and the No. 888 Kelso MPC Audi fighting for second, they lost contact with the No. 268 Team BRM Audi, which easily went straight to the win, with 13 seconds ahead of the nearest opposition. Although Renee Gracie did put the No. 181 OnlyFans MPC Audi back on track, but it wasn’t enough to close down on the No. 47 Supabarn Tigani Mercedes, which controlled the race in the Am Cup once it go the class lead.

The second race had a slightly different picture at the front, with the No. 66 Realta Tigani Mercedes leading the way while the No. 26 Arise Ferrari was leading the chase against it, with the No. 268 Team BRM Audi was in the fringes to match the pace of the top two cars.

While the field was mostly on a status quo during the whole first stint, disaster struck the Team BRM camp as the No. 268 Audi stopped on track due to mechanical issues. Due to the Safety Car brought on track, the top 3 cars were closer, but Paul Lucchitti was spared of a fight as Brad Schumacher was keeping Elliott Schutte honest.

After mounting attacks for a bunch of minutes, Schumacher went for the offensive in the final lap, passing Schutte for second, but with the move, the No. 888 Kelso MPC Audi lost contact with the leader, allowing the No. 66 Realta Tigani Mercedes to go away with the win by mere 0.7 seconds, while Renee Gracie had a slightly more peaceful run to win the Am Cup in the No. 181 OnlyFans MPC Audi, as the class opposition kept close distance but never executed any maneuvers.

While the Pro-Am Cup remains up for grabs, with Schutte and Evans (No. 26) having 189 points, Feeney and Schumacher (No. 888) having 159 and Ojeda and Lucchitti (No. 66) having remote chances of title with 131 points, Renee Gracie (No. 181) was already crowned champion of the Am Cup with 236 points against the 151 of James and Theo Koundouris (No. 47).

The remaining titles will be decided at Hampton Downs, with the season finale scheduled for 1 and 2 November.
