Motorcar absent of the 2024 Endurance Brasil grid

One of the most decorated teams in the Império Endurance Brasil will be absent of the grid in the upcoming season, as Motorcar Racing shifts focus and departs from the championship after seven years competing with other projects in the roadmap, leaving its two car operation behind.

In a video statement published on the team’s Instagram, team director Rafael Cardoso revealed the absence of the team and why this change will happen, as Cardoso will lead the operations at Audace Tech to build and maintain all engines of the Stock Car Brasil grid, while still retaining maintenance operations that Motorcar was involved, as the firm took care of a good number of engines in the P1 class, be them from the Sigma P1 G5 entries or the JLM Racing AJR ones.

Since the relaunch of a national endurance championship when Endurance Brasil came to life in 2017, Motorcar Racing didn’t take at least a class title in only two seasons, having silverware in the P4 and P2 classes with MetalMoro MRXs of varied specs before moving to the P1 class and lifting titles in 2021 and 2022 with their current entries still being in JLM Racing AJR packages as the No. 11 got it first and then the No. 444 became the team’s latest champion.

2023 saw the team move its entries totally to the new Sigma P1 G5 despite the good performance shown in the AJRs in previous seasons, with the No. 444 entry missing out the P1 title by 30 points from BTZ Motorsport, with emphatic wins at Goiânia and Velopark being the highlights of the season.

While there are no news for the moment, it is likely that the entries that were with Motorcar will be moved to another team, which will be down to the owners Emilio Padron and Vicente Orige.
