FTR with a Ligier and a Sigma for the Endurance Brasil season

Some teams are already starting preparations for the season of sportscar racing in Brazilian lands, but while a major part of them are focusing in the upcoming 1000 Milhas race at Interlagos, FTR Motorsport already confirmed plans for the 2024 Império Endurance Brasil season, with a pair of cars of different manufacturers to push the team’s bid for good results.

FTR had a Ligier JS P320 last year, which replaced their MCR Grand-Am Coyote which was completely uncompetitive and irrelevant since the P2 class had no competition, but the rocky season in the new car that holds the No. 18 wasn’t exactly graceful too, but the top 5 in the P1 class at Goiânia that was nearly an overall top-10 in the usual adverse heat of the circuit can be viewed with good eyes when looking back to the last year. The lineup will remain unchanged with the same known faces, as Fernando Poeta will still have the company of Claudio Ricci and Andersom Toso.

As for the second car, out is the No. 75 JLM Racing AJR that was in action last year and in comes one of the newest examples of the Sigma P1 G5 due to certain circumstances, as the No. 11 car from Emilio Padron was left without a team due to the sudden announcement that Motorcar Racing left Endurance Brasil as a team to embrace a project in Stock Car Brasil. This unexpected addition also meant a reunion of old mates, as Fernando Fortes and Henrique Assunção join Emilio Padron and Fernando Ohashi in full time, as this quartet would always find ways to go back to either the No. 75 or No. 11 no matter the model that they were, as this was a thing in P2 class title winning runs in a MetalMoro MRX and even running a No. 11 AJR along didn’t break this.

Not only the lineup chemistry goes a long way in time, but they come off a winning run in the 2023 1000 Milhas in the No. 75 AJR, so it would be more about accommodating the incoming drivers in the dynamics of the new machine than any other thing, in special with the P1 class getting more and more competitive as new teams are still arriving.

The 2024 Império Endurance Brasil season will start on 16 March at Goiânia.
