A Sigma P1 for Motorcar Racing in Endurance Brasil

With a few days to go until the start of the 2023 Império Endurance Brasil season, teams are still making their choices, and Motorcar Racing opted to change the model where the No. 444 will be displayed, with the JLM Racing AJR going out in favor of the new Sigma P1 G5.

Despite the short mileage in the new model, presented in December of 2022, the impression that it left during the debut races of the Interlagos double header was quite pleasing, with the pace being clearly a step ahead of the already established AJR and the so much awaited reliability appearing to back it up, which not only granted a pole position but also a race win in the season finale for Scuderia Chiarelli.

For the new machine, Vicente Orige will be the lead driver while Luiz Henrique Bonatti replaces Gustavo Kiryla as the second driver of the lineup after two years of the partnership that got multiple wins in 2021 and 2022, as well the 2022 season title and a runner-up finish in 2021. Despite the great start of 2022 season, the title winning campaign saw the team face a rocky second half, with reliability issues hindering top notch performances in at least three occasions.

Alongside the Motorcar Racing machine, Scuderia Chiarelli is also expected to field a Sigma P1 G5 when the 2023 season starts, on 25 March at the Velo Citta.
