K-PAX Racing returns to GTWC Europe

After dominating the FANATEC GT World Challenge America for two seasons in a row, K-PAX Racing is moving away again as they go back to Europe for another full season campaign, moving to the FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe with a factory backed program.

An overall class campaign will see a single Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 being used by Squadra Corse drivers Franck Perera, Sandy Mitchell and Marco Mapelli. Lamborghini is the third manufacturer in which K-PAX Racing relies on, with the previous GTWC Europe dating back from 2020, lasting only one season as they switched to Lamborghini and returned to the United States.

K-PAX Racing’s campaign in GTWC America in 2021 and 2022 was so impressive that sporting regulations had to be slightly changed to avoid a complete steamroll from the team last year, as Andrea Caldarelli and Jordan Pepper had 9 wins in 2021 along the two wins from Corey Lewis and Giovanni Venturini, with Mapelli stepping in as their third driver for the Indianapolis 8 Hour, while Caldarelli had 8 wins in 2022 with Jordan Pepper and Michele Beretta. Thanks to this, K-PAX always had four drivers on the top of the table before any other squad appears.

Looking back at their last full season in Europe, a pair of top-10 finishes were K-PAX’ best, but despite the return to the US, the never ignored the European call, as a single entry with a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo at the 2022 24 Hours of Spa with their GTWC America lineup saw them finish just outside the overall top-10, with a frontrunning performance from Caldarelli, Mapelli and Pepper.

Their effort in the GTWC Europe Endurance Cup starts on 23 April with the series’ first round at Monza.
