Comtoyou moves to GTWC Europe

Touring car ace team Comtoyou Racing will move up in the Audi Sport Customer Racing ranks, adding a GT3 commitment in the FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe to its already established touring car efforts in TCR and the Fun Cup.

And the Belgian team will go big in its first GT racing campaign, with three examples of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II for both the Sprint Cup, with expectations being modest for the size of the program, as the team aims to be near the top teams in 2023 to then challenge for the titles in 2024.

The relationship with Audi dates back from the 2017, when Comtoyou Racing established itself with the German manufacturer after brief spells with Volkswagen and SEAT, with the combo at continental and international level in TCR Europe, TCR International and WTCR, acting as the Audi factory squad in the latter.

While Audi Sport can count with Saintéloc Racing and Attempto Racing to be their top forces, Comtoyou's arrival mean that they may be the team to fill the void left by WRT, which ended a 13 year partnership with the four rings of Ingolstadt to join BMW next season, and while a line can be drawn between the two Belgian squads because of their paths in the racing world, they also carry many similarities.

The FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe season will be opened on 22 April 2023 with the Endurance Cup race at Monza.
