K-PAX sweeps Sebring double header in GTWC America

After being in irregular form in the FANATEC GT World Challenge America, K-PAX Racing has found the way back to the wins last weekend at Sebring, with the No. 1 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo of Andrea Caldarelli and Michele Beretta having outstanding runs to victories on Saturday and Sunday.

The No. 1 K-PAX Lamborghini had the pole and the top spot after Turn 1 in Race 1, all while hell was breaking loose behind, with the No. 94 Bimmerworld BMW spinning and ending in the wall. 10 minutes of Safety Car were needed, then when the green came back, the No. 96 Turner BMW was all over the No. 1, though Michele Beretta was with pace enough to keep the BMW at bay.

The Pro-Am Cup also had sparks flying as the No. 93 Racers Edge Acura was holding firmly the class lead, with Ashton Harrison working hard on the defense as the No. 45 Wright Porsche and the No. 04 Crowdstrike Mercedes, though she had some sort of relief as Charlie Luck went too hot for the cornering and spun the No. 45.

The remainder of the race had the No. 1 K-PAX Lamborghini opening the gap more and more as the No. 96 Turner BMW was holding the second position from the pressure of the No. 3 K-PAX Lamborghini, and while the No. 1 had a clear way to victory, the No. 96 secured second place when the No. 3 had the attentions of the newcomer No. 34 Conquest Ferrari, which failed to pass when the chance presented itself.

Mario Farnbacher kept the good work done by Ashton Harrison and secured the Pro-Am Cup win for the No. 93 Racers Edge Acura, while the No. 04 Crowdstrike Mercedes barely held second position in class from the No. 45 Wright Porsche.

An all-Ferrari front row led the way in Race 2, with the No. 34 Conquest Ferrari keeping the top spot while the No. 13 Triarsi Ferrari was in a mix of offensive and defensive, aiming for the lead while also focusing on protecting position from the K-PAX Lamborghini duo.

The Ferraris were interestingly fast, enough to draw some distance from the Lamborghinis behind them, which would be also welcome for the second and final stint. While the No. 34 kept a decent gap over the first 45 minutes, the No. 13 started falling off near the end of the stint, opening an opportunity for K-PAX to actually jump into the lead battle.

In the end, the pit window shuffled the order as the No. 1 K-PAX Lamborghini was first, the No. 13 Triarsi Ferrari was still second overall and the Pro-Am Cup leader, but the No. 34 Conquest Ferrari fell off to sixth, recovering little by little. Manny Franco was eager to put the No. 34 in the overall podium, which pushed the pack led by the No. 45 Wright Porsche to the No. 13 Triarsi Ferrari, which lost positions quickly once the cars started finding room to pass, meaning that the Pro-Am Cup lead was also gone.

Like in Race 1, the No. 1 K-PAX Lamborghini had a comfortable end of race with multiple seconds ahead, while the No. 34 Conquest Ferrari and the No. 3 K-PAX Lamborghini passed the No. 45 Wright Porsche, and the few minutes left were enough for Charlie Luck to barely hold the Pro-Am Cup win from the hard charging No. 94 Bimmerworld BMW.
