GT2s and new GT3s will be part of Assetto Corsa Competizione’s 2023 package

While it can be argued that there are bunch of things lacking in Assetto Corsa Competizione, we can’t deny KUNOS Simulazioni’s efforts to make it the best sim racing representation of the SRO portfolio of series, and during the SRO press conference held at Spa-Francorchamps, a thing or two were revealed for the next year.

Marco Massarutto was acting in the scene and explaining what will be in Assetto Corsa Competizione in 2023 while Stéphane Ratel talked about the ESports side of SRO, which passes through ACC, and while this happened, Aristotelis Vasilakos, Davide Brivio, Luca Sodano and others were moving behind the scenes to gather material for the future content amid their own commitments.

At the moment, 2023 will be geared towards more machinery for ACC, with no public mentions of tracks despite the need for updates in some of the current ones, as well the missing ones that are part of the FANATEC GT World Challenge, with the reasons for certain choices having been given during the launch of the American Track Pack DLC.

All the new GT3 machines announced this year will be in ACC for 2023, although the specific date of the year wasn’t confirmed for obvious reasons, like more information gathering and Balance of Performance matters, the Porsche 911 GT3R 992-spec, the Ferrari 296 GT3 and the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 will have only a few months between the real world competitive debut and the ACC launch, as it’s traditional from the Italian developer.

Also included in Massarutto’s announcement is a GT2 Pack, which may or may not follow the same guidelines of the GT4 Pack, but will put SRO’s newest class in the sim. At the moment, 5 models are already competing in a wide range of events, with the GT2 European Series being the center, and the Audi R8 LMS GT2, Brabham BT63 GT2 Concept, KTM X-BOW GT2, Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo GT2 and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport await for the homologation of the Mercedes AMG GT Track Series and the release of the new Maserati MC20 GT2, which Massarutto admitted it was the reason behind the final decision of working in the GT2 Pack.

This pack, depending on its size, may wait for the GT2 European Series entries as well for the Intercontinental GT Challenge entries too, so it might be or not released with just random or generic liveries like the Ferrari 488 Challenge, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Spec-992 or the BMW M2 CS Racing.
