All paths lead to Argentina in Automobilista 2

It may have passed almost unnoticed, in special since it was a free DLC, but REIZA Studios finally goes back to some South American content release for Automobilista 2, with three tracks from Argentina being in the bunch - Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Termas de Rio Hondo.

The new tracks went along another massive update to the cars physics, which included a wide variety of old models, which contributes to leave most of the content in the Brazilian sim racing title more even in terms of development. The tracks released are special as Argentina’s tracks offer interesting racing, complimenting the cars’ parities, but rarely come out to the most played sim racing titles in official manner, be due to lack of international competitions or interest, or because or the work needed to secure the licenses, which are held for specific TC2000 titles.

The Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez may actually be the most well known to the international fanbase since it was the last one in Argentina to host a Formula 1 race, but the Buenos Aires based venue had and has as much variety in categories that raced there than it has in layouts, with six of them being represented, with the No. 6 and No. 15 having Grand Prix history, the No. 7 layout being a Stock Car Brasil host, the No. 9 layout being part of MotoGP along with a re-profiled No. 6 layout, and in terms of homeland competitions, pretty much every championship used most of the layouts, with the most famous being the TC2000’s 200 km de Buenos Aires.

The Autódromo de Termas de Rio Hondo is one of the most well maintained and one of the most modern racing facilities in Argentina, and despite having essentially a single layout, the venue in Santiago del Estero saw as much competition variety as Buenos Aires, with it being the place where José Maria Lopez was propelled to international stardom in the 2013 WTCC Race of Argentina, with some recent MotoGP history being made there before moving to Vilicum.

Then there’s the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén in Córdoba with three layouts, which saw mostly national stuff but recently became part of TCR South America’s calendar. From Turismo Pista’s hatchbacks to Top Race V6 and Turismo Carretera’s monsters, Cabalén also had practically every piece of Argentine machinery in its asphalt. Despite the technical and quite deal breaking final sector, the attraction of this circuit is the high speed section that covers from the home straight to the back straight, as the four corners in between don’t exactly do a favor of reducing speeds there, in special for lower powered machinery, with battles for position maybe lasting for the whole section, having multiple cars in a pack with some going side by side and banging doors and wheels.

All three tracks from the so-called “Argentinean Track Pack” are available to race once the updates are completed, so the only need is to have Automobilista 2 installed.
