RallyX Nordic list is announced and more drivers are coming

RallyX Nordic
is in the way to have one of the most diverse and crowded grids of the 2022 rallycross season, with 18 drivers confirmed for the season opener at Höljes, spread between combustion power and electrics.

And not only the numbers are impressive, but also the squads that will take part add to the hype with their World-class names. Kristoffersson Motorsport comes with Johan Kristoffersson wanting to defend his title and Nils Andersson and Gustav Bergström, initially sharing a single car, add to a multi-car RX1e effort to also prepare for the FIA World Rallycross Championship season.

EKS is bringing the squad to play, although this year in reduced capacity as only Enzo Ide will carry the team’s banner. On the other hand, JC Raceteknik is another team ready to bring a mammoth program to the competition, naming Sondre Evjen and Philip Gehrman initially but confirming the return of Ole Christian Veiby to rallycross after the entry list announced, with at least one more driver expected to be announced. Volland Racing will enter with another Audi for Yury Belevskiy for full time commitments.

Niclas Grönholm and Anton Marklund bring the Hyundai i20 RXs to the show, representing SET Promotion and Hedströms Motorsport, with the latter also having team owner Peter Hedström at the wheel and Anders Michalak completing the lineup in a Volkswagen Polo RX, and other well known names in the Supercar scene are in, like Thomas Bryntesson and Andreas Carlsson. Keep your eyes on Isak Reiersen, who comes from a good 2021 season in RX2e and RX2 to the 600 hp beasts, being one of the names that may pave the way for the upcoming batch of youngsters in rallycross.

The Höljes round will be held on 14-15 May and the two days will be streamed on RallyX Nordic’s YouTube channel, with Andrew Colley doing the calls in company of Hal Ridge and Molly Petit.
