CE Dealer Team is the first newcomer of World RX 2022

To the current moment, all of the programs announced for the
FIA World Rallycross Championship were made by established teams that are either continuing their commitment or returning after some time out, so this makes the recently announced CE Dealer Team the first newcomer of the RX1e era.

While the team is new to rallycross, behind it there’s an experienced organization with years of motorsport behind it, as PWR RX, an specific arm of PWR Racing, will be responsible for the program and the car to compete. Founded by Daniel Haglöf and Peter ‘Poker’ Wallenberg, they have established roots in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, mostly acting as the SEAT Dealer Team with their founders also being the long time drivers in the competition, and Dahlgren has the 2017 and 2020 titles as accolades.

Curiously one of their drivers in STCC is Mikaela Ahlin-Kotulinsky, who stayed in touring cars for most of her career but recently added appearances in Extreme E, and with the driver announcement for 10 May, she could appear as a candidate due to her off-road experience, following a number of Extreme E drivers that were racing in rallycross at different levels to hone their skills.

Also, the team’s captain, Emil Axelsson, was the co-driver in the WRC ladder for some rallycross aces like Patrik Sandell and Pontus Tidemand.

PWR started to migrate towards electric power recently, with one of its earliest projects being the PWR001, officially the first electric-powered touring car, and although it never entered FIA ETCR, its specs matched the models created for the competition.

Further announcements will come next week, and the season will start at Höljes on 3 July.
