Bakkerud joins Larsson in DRR JC effort in Nitro RX Group E

Another team confirms its lineup for the awaited debut of the Group E class in
Nitro Rallycross, as Dreyer & Reinbold joins forces with JC Raceteknik and welcomes Monster Energy as the full season partner.

Experience is the name of the game for the American team, with Andreas Bakkerud and Robin Larsson being the chosen names for the pair of Olsbergs MSE FC1-Xs that the team will use, which were first seen at the series presentation at Barcelona. The cars were already indicating that JC Raceteknik would join the series, with the DRR connection and the Monster Energy partnership coming now.

Bakkerud comes off from a decorated 2021 season as he conquered the FIA Euro RX1 title with ESMotorsport, but he still found time to do some Nitro RX appearances for Subaru, which gave him a podium finish at Glen Helen, and he has his fair share of electric rallycross as he competed in RallyX Nordic last year with a Ford Fiesta ERX, evolving rapidly as he had to learn the technique to deal with the former Projekt E machine on site.

Larsson stayed in the United States for the whole season after getting the 2019 FIA Euro RX1 title with the RallyX Nordic one coming in the same year as he drove for JC Raceteknik, but his 2021 wasn’t even near the podium as he only made it to the finals in two events, the same of at the time part-timer Bakkerud, with Larsson finishing with only two more points than the Norwegian.

Both drivers already tested their machines as part of the series presentation at Barcelona, and DRR JC is expected to bring in two extra cars, which will join the already confirmed XITE Racing duo of Jenson Button and Oliver Bennett.
