Linnemann confirms presence in the Euro RX1 grid

After focusing his efforts towards the Nordic rallycross scene, Ulrik Linnemann will appear in the FIA Euro RX1 Championship for the whole 2022 season, with a change of machinery being another aspect of the Dane’s return to the international competitions.

Recently, Linnemann opted for a tried and trusted solution to be as competitive as possible, leaving the Olsbergs-built Honda Civic Coupé RX supercar behind in favor of Ford Fiesta ST RX, and with it paying dividends in RallyX Nordic, the idea was to step up the level again, moving to his upcoming campaign.

Being a Super 1600 ace and also finishing sixth in the Euro RX1 standings in 2018 are facts that you can’t ignore, and Linnemann will need all of that skill to face off a ridiculously high level of competition, as proven last year when his Super 1600 rival Andreas Bakkerud had to beat a wealth of Euro and World RX experience in the Dubourg and Pailler brothers to get his first supercar title.

Despite the well known limitations of driving an older machine, Linnemann has set his target on a top five finish, which may be quite realistic with the tools at hand, as the Euro RX1 season starts on 22 May at Nyirád, Hungary.
