Hansen World RX Team reveals RX1e racer

Three teams have revealed their intentions in the new era of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, but only one of them revealed what will be competing on track. That was until late in the week, when Hansen World RX Team revealed their platform for the 2022 season.

With two ways to go in the RX1e regulations in terms of how to incorporate the KREISEL Electric built powertrain kit, Kenneth Hansen and the team opted to retrofit a pair of their older Peugeot 208 WRX to accommodate the new power, meaning that the 2021 season cars are still with internal combustion under the bodywork, meaning that they may be used in other fronts.

Worth reminding that despite holding the 208 shape, initially the Hansen cars aren’t badged, all while retaining long time partners like Oreca, and while the process doesn’t stay totally in Sweden, it ends in Sweden as the final assembly of the cars is done at the Hansen headquarters, as explained by Kenneth himself to Hal Ridge in the team presentation.

Driver lineups won’t feature a single change from the 2021 campaigns, as runner-up Timmy Hansen will have his brother Kevin Hansen as team mate for the seventh season in a row, by far being the longest driver pairing in the World RX grid, which always gives them some sort of advantage as they know how to position themselves when tactics need to be used on track.

Further details of the program still need to be announced, but Hansen World RX Team isn’t expected to have major changes until the start of the season at home in Höljes on 3 July.
