Timmy Hansen leads family 1-2 at Höljes RX

Family that wins together stays together, and this was the Hansens motto at the second round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, the Höljes RX, with Timmy Hansen capturing the first triumph of the season at home in a Hansen World RX Team 1-2 with Kevin Hansen

Johan Kristoffersson managed to get a good head start in Q1, but Timmy Hansen decided to fight back in Q2, putting both Swedes head to head. With lots of contact and tight margins, Kevin Abbring found his way to the top in Q3 while having Timmy Hansen in second keeping consistency, and while the Hansen WRXT driver repeated the second place in Q4, this time it was behind Johan Kristoffersson, who made the best out of clean air in his run, finishing the Qualifying just behind the older of the Hansens while Kevin Abbring and Krisztián Szábo impressed in third and fourth, respectively.

Semifinal 1 started with Timmy Hansen and Kevin Abbring side by side, only for the UNKORRUPTED driver to go to the Joker on the next lap and slot behind Niclas Grönholm, with both staying behind Juha Rytkönen for most of the race, which allowed Timmy Hansen to push, open the gap and do the Joker with ease, having enough of a gap to win the race.

With Grönholm penalized for corner cutting while battling in the Joker with Peter Hedström, Rytkönen took his place and went to the Final.

In Semifinal 2, Szábo and Kevin Hansen tried to squeeze Johan Kristoffersson but he was firm into his lead while having himself and Enzo Ide around Krisztián Szábo. Fortunes changes drastically as a suspension problem forced Kristoffersson to sit out of the fight for the Final, leaving Kevin Hansen chasing Szábo for the lead, eventually making the overtake when the GRX driver went to the Joker and then going straight to the checkered flag.

The Hansen WRXT Peugeot 208 WRXs were monopolizing the front row in the Final, and mounting the barrier at the start, Timmy and Kevin Hansen kept their tactics intact, in usual Hansen fashion with one driver pushing and the other following and keeping the guard high. With Szábo in the way, Abbring couldn’t push to reduce the deficit to the Hansen, so all he could do in the last lap was watch the brothers go 1-2 with Timmy leading Kevin while the Dutch driver completed the podium.
