Timmy Hansen confirmed for 2021 World RX effort

It wasn’t a secret to anyone involved to a certain degree with the FIA World Rallycross Championship that Timmy Hansen would be announced as the second driver of the Hansen World RX Team for the 2021 season, but still Kenneth and Susann Hansen opted for some sort of mystery on it.

Timmy's confirmation follows the announcement that his team mate and brother Kevin Hansen will stay with the family team this year, so obviously the car of choice is their tried and trusted Peugeot 208 WRX.

While Timmy has a World RX title from a hard fought 2019 season, he wants a second crown to add to his name as much as Kevin wants his first title, and even though they have a good chemistry on track, it will be an all-out battle for the last title of the internal combustion era of the competition.

Despite finishing third in the standings last year, most of Timmy's season was spent finding pace to be able to fight with triple champion Johan Kristoffersson and runner-up Mattias Ekström, but once the speed was in his hands, a win at Barcelona was the reward.

Also, while Timmy has a chance of getting his second title, Hansen WRXT spent the World RX off-season in testing while the rest of the field confirmed to this point was competing in RallyX Nordic, so a good car from the go would be a must for the Swede.

The World RX season starts on 23 July at Barcelona, and with no clashes with Extreme E, Timmy will keep driving duties in both competitions in a full time basis.
