Münnich Motorsport confirms a trio for 2021 World RX season

No more separate programs for allInkl.com Münnich Motorsport in rallycross, at least for the time being, as all three entries of the German team will compete in the FIA World Rallycross Championship this year.

Until last season, Timo Scheider was the sole full time entry of the team at the World stage, while Mandie August and team owner René Münnich focused their attentions in the Euro RX1 while making sparse commitments in World RX, but the team opted to make the full jump with its trio of SEAT Ibiza RX models.

Münnich and Scheider are quite versatile as they come from careers in touring cars and GTs, and Scheider has a World RX podium with its current outfit while Münnich has a Euro RX podium. August has two Semifinal participations during her time with Münnich Motorsport, and her acquired mileage and knowledge of the car will be essentially helpful.

The team already had Scheider leading a two car entry, with Münnich and August sharing the second Ibiza, but while Scheider was a podium finisher and a finalist for the first third of the season, he couldn't get past the Seminals in the remainder of the year, and while Münnich could get into the Höljes RX 1 Semifinals, he and August were mostly seen out of them, so the team as a whole has a mission to improve their game as they will face stronger outfits in 2021, with lineups almost as unchanged as them, meaning the competition also knows the tricks of their machinery.

The Barcelona RX raises the World RX curtains on 23-24 July.
