Entry lists announced for the 2021 GTWC Europe season

The FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe is certainly one of the most stable competitions in Europe, and the 2021 season entry list confirms this while the teams are on test at Paul Ricard, with more cars in the Sprint Cup while safe numbers compose the Endurance Cup.

25 cars are set to aim for the overall series, while the Sprint Cup will have a brilliant grid of 29 cars, while the Endurance Cup sees the numbers dwindling slightly to 40 cars, although this count is still better than some multiclass competitions around the World.

The Sprint Cup class distribution became like this: 14 Pro Cup cars, 8 in the Silver Cup and 7 in the Pro-Am Cup. Mercedes boasts the biggest numbers in both the Sprint and Endurance cups, with 8 Sprint cars and 9 Endurance cars, courtesy of teams like AKKA-ASP, Toksport WRT and HRT. Just behind the Sprint Cup order is Audi with 7 Sprint Cup entries, the same number than in the Endurance Cup, with WRT leading the count with their trio of R8 LMS.

Lamborghini also has good numbers, although not as impressive as the top two, with 4 Sprint Cup cars while other three will appear on the Endurance Cup, with the highlights being obviously the powerhouses FFF Racing and Emil Frey Racing, with Barwell being the major force in the Pro-Am Cup.

3 Ferraris in the Sprint Cup will have the company of another 3 in the Endurance Cup, with Iron Lynx having a well mounted Pro Cup program while Pro-Am Cup champions Tempesta Racing will have AF Corse's company in the class.

Dinamic Racing, GPX Racing and series newcomer Allied Racing will bring the Porsches to the competition, with Dinamic and Allied having a Sprint car each while GPX comes with an Endurance entry, while an extra Dinamic entry will appear in the Endurance Cup.

Aston Martin will be essentially Garage 59, with a pair of Vantages for the full season, in the Silver Cup and Pro-Am Cup. Reliance in one team will be the case of McLaren and Bentley, as JOTA Sport and CMR will field the entries, a full season McLaren 720S GT3 and a full season Bentley Continental GT3, with an extra Bentley for the Sprint Cup.

BMW will be the only manufacturer to be focused in a specific part of GT World Challenge Europe, as their 3 cars, 2 for Walkenhorst in the Pro Cup and another one for Boutsen Ginion in the Pro-Am Cup, will be for the Endurance Cup only.

Of the full season entries, Audi and Mercedes dominate the grid again, with more sparse numbers from the other manufacturers.

The 2021 FANATEC GT World Challenge Europe season will start on 16 April with the Endurance Cup at Monza, while the Sprint Cup starts on 8 and 9 May at Magny-Cours.
