Eurobike MC Tubarão moves to BMW M4 GT4

After years relying in home prepared machinery, the Eurobike side of the MC Tubarão team will tackle the 2021 Império Endurance Brasil with a totally new BMW M4 GT4 to put them in line with the machinery inside the GT4 class.

It won’t be exactly the first time MC Tubarão will work in a worldwide spec formula as the team led by Carlos and Tiel Andrade had their hands in an Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 in 2019, which then moved to Tech Force in 2020, and an Audi RS3 LMS DSG TCR, which moved to IMPA Motors in late 2019. Henry Visconde has a long history driving BMWs in Endurance Brasil, coming from an M3 that received an upgrade with a wide body kit that was used since before the Brazilian championship took the space occupied by the Rio Grande do Sul state championship.

The old No. 64 BMW had its last Endurance Brasil race at the 4 Hours of Goiânia round last year, but had its proper send off after the 2021 Mil Milhas do Brasil Chevrolet Absoluta, being the sole GT4 class entry as Visconde jumped in with Lucas Foresti and Tiel Andrade.

The BMW M4 GT4 is quite recent in the BMW customer racing portfolio, being available for racing since 2018, and had its fair share of wins and triumphs around the World, notably one of them being the dominating run that Team Studie had in the now called FANATEC GT World Challenge Asia.

GT4 spec machinery had its time to shine last year in Endurance Brasil, as the entries with machines in the spec would take advantage of superior reliability to frequently challenge for overall top-5 finishes, even succeeding in doing so from time to time.

Tests with the new machine are expected to start soon, and time will tell who will share the seat with Visconde. MC Tubarão itself will be in a busy season as always, splitting its commitment between Império Endurance Brasil in the P1 and GT4 classes, and also with a double Audi effort in the debuting TCR South America series, with the endurance season starting on 3 April at Interlagos.
