Parker Racing says goodbye to Bentley

After five years dedicating its GT3 program to Bentley with some noticeable milestones, Parker Racing decided to break the relationship with the Crewe manufacturer, and is in pursuit of alternatives for the 2021 season that lies ahead.

The end of this long relationship comes amid the news that Bentley will end the support to the Continental GT3 model, which started in 2016, two years after the first competitive outing of the first generation car in the hands of M-Sport. The rise of customers in 2020 wasn’t enough to keep Bentley in the game, so the factory effort in the Intercontinental GT Challenge was dropped, leaving the job to Bentley’s customer, Parker Racing included, and at the end of the year all drivers were freed from their factory contracts, and it was announced a final year of customer support before the program being shut down entirely.

Parker Racing was Bentley’s biggest customer in its homeland, but the activities weren’t limited to the United Kingdom, so campaigns in British GT were always followed by participations in the GT World Challenge Europe, generally spending its racing time in the Pro-Am Cup with podiums at continental level and class wins at home soil. While the Pro-Am Cup entry was kept in British GT in 2020, the team switched to the Silver Cup in GT World Challenge Europe.

The last race with Parker racing a Bentley was this year’s Gulf 12 Hours, where it finished 5th overall, and further plans for 2021 will be announced soon.
