Drivers confirmed for K-PAX effort in GTWC America

The return of the Pro Cup to the GT World Challenge America was one of the things that lured K-PAX Racing to come back, along with the fact of racing at home again, and with the driver announcements made by the team, it became clear they mean serious business in the series, relying mostly in the Lamborghini Squadra Corse power.

Out of the four drivers confirmed for the pair of Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVOs, only Jordan Pepper doesn’t have factory involvement with Lamborghini, as the South African was released by Bentley after the end of the 2020 season due to the end of the factory GT3 program, and K-PAX was quick to secure Pepper’s services after seeing first hand what he can do behind the wheel during most of the last year.

Pepper is joined by two Lamborghini factory drivers, being them Andrea Caldarelli and Giovanni Venturini, and the developmental driver Corey Lewis. Caldarelli doesn’t need much presentation, as he has two Blancpain GT Endurance Cup titles and is one of the masterminds behind FFF Racing by ACM, which has titles in two of the four GT World Challenge regional series.

Venturini is an International GT Open champion who has ties with Imperiale Racing, but recently he joined FFF Racing’s lineup for the GT World Challenge Europe, so you can say he has ties with Caldarelli. Lewis adds the American spice to the lineup, being a Lamborghini Super Trofeo champion and ROLEX 24 class winner, being well versed in Sant’Agata based machinery inside and out the United States.

Out of curiosity, Pepper is the youngest driver in the lineup as he is 24 years old, while Lewis and Venturni are 29 and Caldarelli is 30, so K-PAX have a young team with 28 years old average. The factory drivers were separated in each of the entries, with Caldarelli being alongside Pepper in the No. 3 entry, while Venturni and Lewis will drive the No. 6 entry.

The 2021 GT World Challenge America season starts on 6 and 7 March at Sonoma, marking the return of K-PAX after exactly one year away from the series.
