Endurance Pack 2 DLC is released to RFactor2

Some years ago, Studio 397 released to RFactor2 what would become one of its highlights in terms of DLC, as the Endurance Pack came with a lot of Le Mans and FIA WEC related content that somehow emphasizes the aim of the sim. After the major 2018, 2020 ends with the release of the Endurance Pack 2, bringing newer machinery to spice up things.

Despite the fact that the first Endurance Pack was released in 2018, a lot of the Le Mans related landscape has changed in terms of machinery, as four cars of the pack were either replaced or taken out of action, while two are still active at the top level in real life. The second pack brings a trio of active machines in three different specs like the first pack, but with obviously reduced numbers, a new class and the replacement car of a model in the first DLC bunch.

Starting with the new class, the inclusion if the Cadillac DPi-V.R, as the IMSA machine is actually a debutante in the sim racing market. Interestingly, RFactor2 had a DPi tag in its car selection since the launch of the first Endurance Pack DLC, but it will be put into proper use now and onwards. The Cadillac DPi-V.R is an example on how IMSA settled in a platform to replace the original Daytona Prototypes, as the GMC company partnered with Dallara to get the best of two worlds: LMP2 looks with some manufacturer styling cues along with their own screaming V8 engine in the back.

FUN FACT: The Oreca 07 LMP2 is tagged in the opponent selection as “DPi” in RFactor2 since 2018, even though the class is listed right.

Second of the list is an actual LMP2 machine, as Ligier debuts as official content in the Studio 397 sim with the Ligier JS P217, a car that was hugely overshadowed in the class as the French constructor failed to find parity with the dominant Oreca 07, even after the implementation of joker upgrades, making it become a rare view in the real life grids, with only Eurasia Motorsport, Inter Europol and Eurointernational using the JS P217, all of the represented virtually. Engine following the LMP2 standard of the 2017 rules as the 600 hp Gibson GK428 V8 power all LMP2 models.

The third car in the list is the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTE, which replaced the 2016-spec Corvette C7.R GTE included in the Endurance Pack 1, and the change of machine in 2020 was crowned with a WeatherTech Sportscar Challenge GTLM title, with the national triumph somehow compensating for the absence at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The C8.R GTE is a radical change compared to the C7.R GTE, with a more well distributed look as its 5.5 liter V8 with cross plane crank was moved from the front to the mid, giving it a more stable behavior, at the cost of the characteristic Corvette roar from previous versions.

Along the new DLC, an update came with what can be considered the first iteration of the competition system that will be adopted in the future, with a single series available in close monitoring from Studio 397 to find bugs and errors before more features can be included.

The Endurance Pack 2 can be either acquired in a bundle or separately car by car.
