EBM announces double program in GT World Challenge Asia

Earl Bamber Motorsport has quite an interesting history in GT3 racing despite the really short time on it, spent in the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli, but a new chapter will be written this year as the New Zealand-based team will join the grid of the GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS.

EBM follows quite an interesting trend as Earl Bamber commands the team, alongside his brother Will, while also being a Porsche factory driver, which also include Team75 Benhard with Timo Benhard and RD Limited with Romain Dumas, though this specific one isn’t exclusively tied with Porsche.

The program that EBM will present in Asia will have two late spec Porsche 911 GT3Rs for team owner Will along with Piti Bhirombhakdi, in what will be known as Singha TP12 by EBM, reviving the TP12 name after a partnership with Kessel Racing in 2018 to compete in Europe.

The other Porsche will race under the EBM banner, and will feature Brenton Grove and Setiawan Santoso in the lineup. Grove comes with the experience in Porsche machinery, thanks to his activities with Grove Racing, which gave to him and his team a GT3 Pro-Am class win in the 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour and also two GT Cup class wins on it in previous years. Santoso joins with the knowledge of the Asian competition despite having only one year of experience, spent in the GT4 class with Team iRace.Win, meaning the jump to the 911 GT3R will be an entirely new thing to him.

The class where the entries will be fitted is unclear, but with two pairs of Silver and Bronze rated drivers, the GT3 Pro-Am Cup seems to be the likely destination. The GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS season will start on March 28th and 29th at Sepang, Malaysia.
