RallyX Nordic presents 2020 calendar

RallyX Noric delivered quite the show until the very end, as a dramatic final at the Tierp Arena crowned Robin Larsson as the 2019 champion, and the 2020 season is expected to have more of the same with some tweaks here and there, at least in terms of venues presented in the calendar.

Almost all circuits of the 2019 season confirmed a return, which counts as a strong point to the competition, though they hadn’t made concessions to try to be faithful to their regional aspect, staying as most on the North as possible, which is highlighted by the fact that Bikernieki track in Riga, Latvia will not be present, leaving it to World RX exclusivity.

The number of rounds go up by one in 2020, with the eight rounds being a trio of double headers followed by two standalone events. This year, Höljes opened as a double header event, so this is not new to the competitors, but the fact that the Sweden-Denmark-Norway marathon will certainly make everybody change their strategies during these weekends.

Höljes remains as the season opener in May, followed almost immediately by Nysum and then Finnskogbanen, which will have a longer resting window to breathe. Once past the double headers, a venue to be confirmed in Finland will hold the seventh round, with the season finale taking the usual place at Tierp Arena.

One of the most interesting details of the next season is that competitors from national series may join the regulars at any rounds, with the Norwegian championship taking part at Höljes and Finnskogbanen, and the Swedish championship joining in at Tierp. This is totally alike the Kouvola round last year, where the Rallicross-SM entries joined the RallyX Nordic grid, competing in their own turf and also for regional honors.
