Cape Town RX arrives in DiRT Rally 2.0

Two weeks after what was one of the most nail-biting ends to a FIA World Rallycross Championship season, the venue where everything happened is released in virtual form to DiRT Rally 2.0, with Codemasters revealing it this Tuesday (19).

Cape Town joined the World RX route on 2017, with South Africa replacing the South American round of Rosario, in Argentina, which became the first rallycross event in the African continent, with the 2017 edition event having some local presence in the grid withe Ashley Haigh-Smith and Mark Cronje. Since its introduction, the Cape Town RX was always the World RX season finale.

Unlike the quite technical Yas Marina Circuit in the previous release, the rallycross layout of the Killarney International Raceway lets you have a more wild drive. The track is composed by 60% of asphalt and 40% of gravel, being quite slippery and present in decisive parts, like the 90-degree Turn 3 or in the standard route side of the track split, and depending on your driving style and setup, this opens many opportunities to attack both corners.

The Joker Lap route is also intuitive but tricky to get in, with the entry radius being tighter than the rest of the corner, so dive at full speed at your own risk, or else you’ll be off track. The end of it is in a gravel hairpin where rotating the car early can keep you in the line and cut off some precious tenths of second. After it, a straight that leads to a high speed chicane completes the layout, but take care on how attack it, or else the tire barriers or the publicity boards are waiting off track, as the chance is high for understeer due to a bump before the corner.

The track is available from the go for those who own the Season Pass 3+4, but it can also be acquired separately in the DiRT Rally 2.0 store page in every system.
