Ferrari joins the GT3 Evo club too

With most of the manufacturers in the GT3 class having no options to replace their current models, the alternative found was to create an evolution, with a series of specialized updates to keep it up with the newer competition, and Ferrari saw an opportunity in this to bring their 488 GT3 model to the next step, as the 488 GT3 Evo will roll out next year.

The presentation was during the Ferrari Finali Mondiali at Mugello, where drivers from the regional Ferrari Challenge series to compete for their own honors as well for a general title, and it wouldn’t be strange to say that some of these drivers may even make the jump to GT3 racing in the future, so nothing than presenting the new horse near the customers.

The idea in the 488 GT3 Evo was to align it more with the 488 GTE Evo, with the longer wheelbase being a new feature, and considering that Ferrari already did it with the 458 Italia model, no surprises as some of their customers may have a go at Le Mans with a GTE from racing in a GT3 class.

Along with this, most meaningful changes in the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo aimed for more stability and reliability, like a bit less weight, improved traction control and ABS, new engine management and so on.

The endurance pack is always available, which has extra headlights, quick-fill couplings for engine oil and coolant, carbon-fibre clutch, brake calipers adopted from the GTE model and steel wheel nuts, and there are still some other extras outside the endurance kit.

The Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo will be ready for customers to acquire or will come as an update kit for the owners of the current Ferrari 488 GT3, in the same way that Lamborghini, Audi and Honda offer to their respective models.
