Abu Dhabi RX is available in DiRT Rally 2.0

The plans to bring the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship content into DiRT Rally 2.0 are moving forward, with Codemasters bringing the rallycross variation of the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi to the sim racing title this Tuesday (08).

Curiously, this inclusion makes DiRT Rally the second Codemasters franchise to have the Abu Dhabi circuit in its roster, with the first being the F1 franchise as usual, and this is also the second variation of the track to be part of a Codemasters game.

The track is an incredibly new addition to the World RX calendar, being introduced as the season starter this year, in an event marked by the official presentation of the Monster Energy RX Cartel squad, the first event to be held at night, a crucial win for Kevin Hansen and a huge crash between Andreas Bakkerud and Timmy Hansen.

The rallycross circuit locates at the end of the first sector of the full FIA Grade 1 layout, an area of vast space and some twisty corners, with the only concern being the loose surface areas, with two sections at the middle and final parts of the track roughly solve the question. Even though a good chunk of it is asphalt, the tight corners and a slight elevation change before the Joker make it an interesting challenge.

Those who saw the Abu Dhabi RX this year will remember the kerbs installed in the inside of some corners to avoid track cutting, which even led to a tragicomic situation with Reinis Nitiss’ Hyundai mounting over Anton Marklund’s GCK, and this is quite possible in DiRT Rally 2.0, with them scattered in chicanes and hairpins. A roll is highly likely to happen, so try to avoid a hit into these kerbs.

Owners of the second Season Pass will have the circuit installed and ready as soon as they launch Steam or in console platforms, and Yas Marina is also available in the Season 3 DLC bundle and as a standalone content.
