Larsson is back to World RX at Riga

It has been an incredible 2019 season for Robin Larsson, as the Swede kept his level high despite doing double duty in RallyX Nordic and the Euro RX, and with things settled at continental level, he will go back to the FIA World Rallycross Championship to race in the Latvia RX.

Larsson has two good reasons to go back to World RX in the Bikernieki Sports Base, as he already has experience in the track and he already conquered the Euro RX title, his second in his career. By coincidence, his two Euro RX titles were conquered in Audi machinery, though his good old Audi A1 RX differs a lot from the Audi S1 EKS RX he is driving this year with expert outfit JC Raceteknik.

Larsson left the World RX once the announcement that Olsbergs MSE would not continue in a full time basis after the end of the 2018 season, so JC Raceteknik appeared with the recently acquired Audis from EKS RX and he got the opportunity, splitting himself between the Euro RX and RallyX Nordic, and the Scandinavian championship can be where Larsson can achieve his second title in the season as he is still in the fight ahead of the finale at the Tierp Arena.

Larsson was a full time entrant in World RX in three seasons, with a victory in Argentina in 2015, five podiums and taking part of a Final 12 times, though his return to the World stage is being treated more as a test to see where he stands with the current competitors, as JC Raceteknik already had its experience this year with Mattias Ekström.

With Larsson taking part of World RX, his place in the Euro RX will be occupied by his RallyX Nordic team mate Mats Öhman, who does sporadic appearances in Euro RX since 2016, though he has very little experience in the Latvian track.

The Latvia RX will be held on September 14th for both the World RX and Euro RX.
