Estering RX is part of DiRT Rally 2.0 now

Just a few days before the standalone Euro RX event at Estering, the German rallycross classic appears in its whole virtual glory in DiRT Rally 2.0, ending the Season 2 of DLC content and giving another opportunity for more madness.

Estering is home and history of rallycross itself, being out of the top tier championship schedules only three times since 1973, which means the circuit saw all kinds of specs bang doors and go sideways there, from small and nimble Escorts and Beetles to the powerful Group Bs until the modern supercars.

The track also held one of the German World RX rounds until 2018, with the most recent events being the last ones in European lands before overseas finales in Argentina and South Africa, and by being part of 2018 calendar, Estering was an expected addition to DiRT Rally 2.0.

Recent history at Estering saw Olsbergs MSE’s Kevin Eriksson become an internet hit by coming from the back of the field in the 2016 final, enter totally sideways into turn one and leave the whole field behind in the next straight, a piece of art with a lot of boldness, as you can see in the video below:

The whole track is quite interesting, as the high speed first part sees your car being thrown into turn 1 dirt and accelerate until it hits top speed at the back straight before going to a tight tarmac hairpin. Then weight shift knowledge is important as you will swing the car through a left-right section before slowing down to the penultimate corner, with the last corner being a bit tighter than a square.

The Joker Lap is almost like a labyrinth and is painfully slow, being a left-right sequence of hairpins that have room for just a bit more than one car. Don’t do silly mistakes here, the barriers wait you at the moment you put a wheel off your line.

Here is a quick race at the track to give you an idea:

The Estering RX track is available instantly for Deluxe Edition owners while those wanting to buy it separately just need to pay 3.49 Euros.
