Abbring will drive ESMotorsport Skoda in Hell RX

Kevin Abbring will make his rallycross debut in the world stage, being given a drive in the Skoda Fabia RX from ESMotorsport, starting his FIA World Rallycross Championship participation in the next round at Hell, in Norway.

Although lacking competitive rallycross experience, Abbring spent the off-season with the Lithuanian team helping in the development of the Czech supercar, being one of the drivers who took part of the program and having the most miles driven. He was initially expected to stay as a test driver, but with the opportunity arising, the Dutchman was put in the seat.

ESMotorsport started the year with home driver and Super 1600 champion Rokas Baciuska, but disagreement over contract matters made them part ways days before the Spa RX, in which former WRC man François Duval took part driving their Skoda, while the team didn’t show up in the next event, the Silverstone RX.

Curiously ESMotorsport will face former man Baciuska on track, as he signed to drive a third GCK Megane R.S. RX during the Silverstone, and his new journey will also start in Norway.

The Hell RX will be held at the Lankebanen on June 15th.
