Baciuska secuires GCK drive in World RX

Rokas Baciuska’s break from the FIA World Rallycross Championship will be a short one, with the Lithuanian driver securing a return to track with Guerlain Chicherit and his GCK squad.

Baciuska was present at the Silverstone RX at the SpeedMachine and the deal was announced while the event was happening, with the confirmation that he will drive a third GCK Megane R.S. RX that was sitting on the sidelines since the start of the year. The deal sees Baciuska getting into the French machine from Hell RX onwards.

The Super 1600 champion started his year as a surprise announcement from debutante ESMotorsport, driving their Skoda Fabia RX, but the deal was interrupted days before the Spa RX as the parties couldn’t get an agreement about the contract, leaving Baciuska on foot in Belgium and in Great Britain. While that, François Duval joined the Fabia RX seat at Belgium, but the Ernestas Staponkus-led team wasn’t seen at Silverstone.

Curiously Baciuska is still a student, though his final exams will be just ahead the Hell RX, which won’t be a barrier into his rallycross commitments.

With Baciuska’s entry, GCK aligns an impressive count of five cars, which is practically a third of the current World RX field, if you count the GCK main squad and the junior GCK Academy team. The rest of the team doesn’t see any changes, with Chicherit and Anton Marklund staying in the Meganes while Guillaume de Ridder and Cyril Raymond will drive the GCK Clio R.S. RX.

The Hell RX will be held on June 15th.
