T2 Motorsport is back to Blancpain GT Asia

After sitting out of the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia in 2017, T2 Motorsport will return for a full-time effort with the same Ferrari 488 GT3 used back, though the previous lineup will have an incredible third driver aiming for the series title.

In fact, most of the program that was at the series in 2017 will return for another attack in 2019, which includes the team’s Ferrari 488 GT3 (which is in Assetto Corsa Competizione), along with Gregory Teo and David Tjiptobiantoro, though this time they will rotate one of the driver slots during the season, with Tjiptobiantoro racing in four events while Teo races in two of them, and both will share the driving with former Formula 1 driver Rio Haryanto.

Looking at Haryanto’s racing career, his sportscar adventure is like a complete turnaround as he dedicated himself entirely to open-wheel racing, but after his short-lived stint with Manor Racing during the 2016 Formula 1 season, he took a time off of competitive racing and tested in a variety of categories, returning only in 2018 in the SIC888 endurance race at Shanghai in an Audi R8 LMS GT4.

Unlike in 2017, the T2 Motorsports entry looks set to be the only Indonesian entry in the series as there’s no confirmation of a return of FIA WEC competitor Clearwater Racing.
