Assetto Corsa Competizione reaches Build 4, Hungaroring and Ferrari 488 GT3 included

This Wednesday (12) was another day to look at what’s new in Assetto Corsa Competizione, with a new build being released on Steam Early Access, bringing the usual new car and new track to the mix, as well some bits added to the existing features of the sim.

The brand new thing feel comes more from the track than from the car itself, as Hungaroring is hardly featured officially in the top-tier sim racing titles, while the Ferrari 488 GT3 is a car that was part of the first Assetto Corsa lineup as DLC content, and adding to it there’s the fact that the car was already used by the AI until this point. Due to the unique traction control system in the 488 GT3, a TC2 adjustment was added to the setup, being apart from the main TC adjustment.

The fourth build also marks the implementation of broadcast features, both the SDK and the HUD, which is why even the replay mode received some updates, and some competitive multiplayer racing, while the rating system received some tweaks in determined areas while the Total rating was unlocked, leaving only the Competition rating to be released in order to get a full rating.

Some areas also received minor tweaks, like the mirror quality in the Configurations window being separated in two adjustments, and the car selection screen having more detailed information about the entries, like team logos, class where the car is in and driver ratings for those present. Those who care to look further will find out that some extra entries were added to the currently available cars.

If you want to see the entensive full changelog of the version 0.4.0, here it is on Assetto Corsa’s official site, and with this release the year ends in terms of updates, with only providential patches being released when needed, as 2019 wil start with the Build 5, set for release on January 16th.
