2019 World RX calendar confirmed without USA

With the end of the season, the main topic turned into how the FIA World Rallycross Championship will be in 2019, and everything started with the calendar that was released this Thursday (7), having a slight reduction to what was initially proposed.

The calendar will feature 10 events as the North American stay will be reduced with the World RX of USA being axed, and according to the IMG director Paul Bellamy, the reason behind the decision was cost cutting in order to help competitiveness, which was discussed with the FIA and with the current teams. Despite not having the USA round, the World RX will still visit North America with the World RX of Canada at Trois-Rivières on August 4th.

The rest of the calendar is kept unchanged in terms of venues, although the World RX of South Africa being brought forward to November 10th to close the season.

Despite not being featured in the World RX, the Circuit of the Americas is expected to continue in the Americas Rallycross Championship schedule, though the championship still has to reveal the whole schedule for the next year.

The expectation for the World RX is to return to USA in 2021, when the competition will fully embrace electric cars.
