Mottin Racing set to bring MetalMoro AJR to the 12 Hours of Tarumã

Regular user of MCR machinery and a few other things in recent times, Mottin Racing will add another example of the MetalMoro AJR prototype to action, with this becoming the sixth model to hit the track and debut marked to the 12 Hours of Tarumã in December.

Mottin Racing scaled down their program since the end of the 2017 season, so their only machine on track this year is the MCR Grand-Am Lamborghini that won the 12 Hours of Tarumã in 2016, and although the reliability that won the longest race in the south of Brazil is still there, the pace is failing to cope with the new machinery that arrived recently, with the AJRs included.

According to Blog do Passatão (source in Portuguese), the engine in the new AJR will also be different from the other models, with a turbocharged Audi unit being confirmed to push the car, being it inherited from the MCR P2 that won the 12 Hours of Tarumã in 2015, the fourth powerplant to feature in an AJR after the Honda K20 and K24 ones and the Stock Car Brasil-derived Chevrolet LS3.

With the race set for the midnight of December 16th, Mottin Racing is one of the first prototype teams to confirm an entry in what’s expect to be a big grid as the standard categories in Endurance Brasil are set to be joined by other touring car classes, which will include one that will race in radial tires.
