CarGuy Racing joins Asian LMS grid for 2018/2019 season

An Asian team that has been showing massive commitment to the competitions in the area is CarGuy Racing, and Takeshi Kimura will add another one to the list with a full-time entry in the 2018/2019 season of the Asian Le Mans Series.

Kimura is also making a reputation for himself for the versatility in the car choices for the team, as the machine to be used in the Asian Le Mans Series will be the Ferrari 488 GT3, which he was testing in Italy this month. He also mentioned that the goal is to add a win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in his records, so he considered that the car choice was the right step.

This adds to a small list that includes the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 that was used in Super GT, Super Taikyu and in the Blancpain GT Series Asia, and also the Honda NSX GT3 that CarGuy Racing currently uses in Super GT, and with him always doing the hands-on work of testing the cars in advance, he can be compared to Team AAI’s Jun San Chen, who also switches machinery from time to time and is a regular competitor in the Asian Le Mans Series.

The team will tackle the Asian LMS with an impressive lineup, as Kimura will followed by Kei Cozzolino, who was in practically every entry fielded by CarGuy Racing, and AF Corse driver and FIA WEC LMGTE-Pro champion James Calado, and with no date clashes between the Asian LMS and the FIA WEC, there wouldn’t be any issues for the British driver to stay for the full season in Asia.

The Asian Le Mans Series starts the 2018/2019 season at Shanghai on November 25th. CarGuy Racing will face good competition in the GT class, with Eurasia Motorsport, Red River by TF Sport and Spirit of Race fielding a car each, while Audi Sport TSRT will come with two cars.
