2019 Lamborghini Squadra Corse lineup announced

Although the Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver pool is obviously big, only some selected few ones receive full backing from the Italian manufacturer in its customer racing programs, and the lineup for 2019 features almost no changes for the moment.

The significant modification in the lineup is the departure of Christian Engelhardt from the Squadra Corse, with no apparent reason leading to the decision, so it may not be related to the incident that led to Grässer Racing disqualification of the Nürburgring round of the Blancpain GT Sprint Cup.

As for the additions, Franck Perera and Phil Keen were brought in, with Perera coming with the 2018 ROLEX 24 GTD win in record, and Keen comes with an impressive record in the British GT despite being runner-up in 2017 and 2018, with six race wins during these two years. Both drivers drove for Grässer Racing during the season, with Keen focused in the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup while Perera had more experience in the whole Blancpain GT Series.

Keen and Perera will join Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli, Marco Mapelli and Giovanni Venturini, while Raffaele Giammaria takes the roles of test driver and coordinator of the young talent programs, and a shootout to be set by Squadra Corse will bring a proimissing driver to the main lineup.
