Mettet says goodbye to World RX

Another of the original FIA World Rallycross Championship venues is set to leave the schedule of the globe-trotting competition as no agreement between World RX’s IMG and Mettet Circuit’s RUMESM didn’t reach an agreement.

Mettet hosted the World RX of Belgium since the start of the championship in 2014, seeing former World Rally Championship driver François Duval appear regularly with even a participation in the final in 2016, but the one who has the best memories is part-time World RX driver Toomas Heikkinen, as the Finn won twice in a row at Mettet, both with Markund Motorsport, which scaled down its program to the Euro RX.

There are still rumors about what venue would replace Mettet, be them related to circuits inside or outside Belgium, but nothing is confirmed at the moment.
