The Porsche 911 RSR GTE is coming to rFactor 2

With all the things that were brought into rFactor 2 until the moment, it’s needless to say that Studio 397 practically revived the title with the level of commitment they are having with it, but the things to come are also exciting, and the Dutch company announced that the Porsche 911 RSR GTE will be joining rFactor 2’s car lineup in the next DLC pack.

The latest LMGTE racer from the Stuttgart manufacturer exists since 2017 and is already featured in a number of sim racing titles including Assetto Corsa and Project CARS 2 as the main ones, and although the car is coming to rFactor 2 pretty late compared to the competition, the upcoming updates in the title will leave it in a good position to compare to the other versions of the 911 RSR.

The 911 RSR will be part of an incredible DLC dubbed ‘Endurance Pack’, with most of the lineup being already known to the public, as the ORECA 07 LMP2 and the Norma M30 LMP3 are already validated, while the 2016-spec Corvette C7.R GTE is still awaiting validation from GM, and so is the 911 and the mysterious fifth car, still to be unveiled.

Outside the DLC content, progress was made into the updates to the Zandvoort track, mostly to leave it as close as the real track in comparison to the 0.20 version already in rFactor 2, while work on Sebring is focused on trackside objects, though it will need further optimization. Another cool feature that’s a work in progress and will be included later is the integration with Motec data logging into the simulation, which may remind the days of SimBin’s GTR2 and its link with the Motec i2 Pro software.

With the DLC cars awaiting validation, there’s no estimated release date, while track updates and releases should be near the end of the year.
