Corvette factory effort set for 6 Hours of Shanghai entry

After the grueling challenge that is the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Corvette Racing will go back to its commitments in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, but coming as a surprise is the inclusion of a participation in the FIA World Endurance Championship round at Shanghai.

This one will be a special entry for the Chinese race, with a single Corvette C7.R GTE in an unusual redline livery, backed by SAIC-GM, Chevrolet’s arm in China, being the first entry for the American manufacturer in Asian soil, as well breaking a tradition for the first time since 2014 at the Circuit of the Americas, as the team doesn’t have the habit of taking part of the 6 Hour FIA WEC races, even less so being it an overseas round.

The driver lineup is still open, so the names that will drive the car will be announced in a later date.
