CEFC TRS Manor Ginettas parked as team faces funding issues

The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, first round of the FIA World Endurance Championship super season, will be the first race for many new machines in most of the classes, and this included the Ginetta G60-LT-P1s from CEFC TRS Manor, but the Anglo-Chinese team will be doing nothing on track this weekend as last minute funding issues were reported.

According to Ginetta in an official statement, funds that would be coming from TRS have not arrived, and with this neither of the two LMP1 cars will be racing this Saturday (05), despite them being at the Belgian circuit along with the CEFC TRS Manor crew. The team missed initial checks in the cars mid-week and done only a single installation lap with both cars in all sessions they took part.

It’s explained though that TRS, the Chinese part of the team, was working with sponsors to sort out the issue, which included contact with both CEFC TRS Manor and Ginetta, but since nothing came out in time, Ginetta won’t allow the cars to race. According to TRS, the funding issue is a cash flow problem and funding will be in place before the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Ginetta is joining the LMP1 class after experiences as the inaugural LMP3 constructor and with prototypes outside the ACO rulebook such as the G57 and the new G58, and CEFC TRS Manor is the first team to be using the G60-LT-P1 with more customer teams rumored to come.
