FIA WEC Sebring round changes to a Friday race

The Sebring round of the FIA World Endurance Championship was already expected to run separate from the 12 Hours of Sebring, unlike the first FIA WEC race in 2012, but now not only the race format was revised, but also the race date after a meeting between FIA, IMSA and Sebring representatives.
The race will occur in a 1000 mile format or 8 hours, depending of what comes first, and the worldwide championship will use a new pitlane installation to make transition between the two races easier, as the Sebring 1000 will be moved back to Friday, on March 15th, to be raced in the afternoon and finishing at night, while the Sebring 12 Hours retain their original time at near noon on Saturday to finish at night. This change automatically ends with the plans for a midnight start of the FIA WEC race.
In order to get all entries used to the bumpy American track, an FIA WEC test day will be scheduled ahead of the race weekend.
