ESmotorsport will bring Skoda to World RX

Another privateer is set to join the grid of the FIA World Rallycross Championship as Lithuanian outfit ESmotorsport is about to mount a program for the 2018 season with a Skoda Fabia RX.

In fact, not only the new car is still being built but also still needs testing and the team will is in negotiations with some names to drive the Fabia RX as ESmotorsport owner Ernestas Staponkus confirmed he will not drive it, despite his background in the Super 1600 class.

Should the program materialize, Skoda is coming back to the World RX for the first time since 2016, when fellow Lithuanian outfit LT Motorsport aligned a car for Nerijus Naujokaitis in Latvia. ESmotorsport also comes from a long break as they last competed in 2016.

The 2018 World RX season starts on April 15th at Barcelona, but with some details to finish for ESmotorsport, their debut will be probably this summer, according to Staponkus.
