RaceRoom opens the way for TCR content

It’s no secret that the TCR class is attracting not only drivers and teams but also fans due to the close racing and the global aspect of it, with championships in almost all continents, and it’s not secret that soon all eyes will turn to the renewed WTCR championship, and the top touring car competition will reach the virtual world thanks to Sector3 Studios and RaceRoom Racing Experience.

Although the TCR class is pretty popular, it still has to open its way in the sim racing scene as Project CARS 2 was the only representative with official content, and not only RaceRoom adds to this number but also continues its link with Eurosport Events and brings the World Touring Car Cup in its whole to the title, with all seven brands and 25 cars coming. About the circuits of the 2018 WTCR calendar, it’s hard to point if other circuits will be included, adding to a list that has the Nordschleife, Hungaroring, Zandvoort, Suzuka and Macau.

RaceRoom was already featuring WTCC content since the end of the Super 2000 era and went past the whole TC1 era to now enter the TCR regulations as the real life championship dropped the previous regulation and was combined with the TCR International Series, which was in steady rise since the creation of the TCR class.

As a preview of the content, RaceRoom launched a prologue event in the leaderboard with the first car to arrive in the simulator, the Audi RS3 LMS TCR, as competitors fight for the best laps around Zandvoort. This will be followed by the official launch of the eSports WTCR, the virtual counterpart of the championship, following the same model of the previous eSports WTCC competition, with a qualifying round in the leaderboard to select the racers to compete in races that will be broadcast online, with all ending at Nürburgring where the competition will be with the real WTCR drivers along other sim racers around.

If you already want to at least have a sample of the Audi RS3 LMS TCR, go to the eSports WTCR Prologue event and do your best.
