Asian LMS presents 2018/2019 calendar

The 2017/2018 season of the Asian Le Mans Series saw an increase in competitiveness but a decrease in entry numbers, somehow slowing down the progress made in 2016/2017. In order to sort this and other things, the calendar for the 2018/2019 season had changes in some dates and in a venue.

The series start stays in China, but it will change from Zhuhai to Shanghai and the race will be a week later than the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Shanghai, on November 25th, which may be a way to capitalize into the world championship popularity with teams and drivers having the possibility of combining both competitions in a longer stay in Chinese lands.

The rounds at Fuji and Buriram stay pretty much in the same calendar slots, while the final round at Sepang will be moved to late February on the 24th, as a measure to avoid another date clash with the Bathurst 12 Hour and any other major events that occur during this time.

The Asian Le Mans Series continues its tire partnership with Michelin as the contract was renewed this week, lasting for 3 seasons.

The competition still has a round to go to close the current season as the 4 Hours of Sepang race will occur this Sunday.
