ARN Racing confirms Blancpain GT Asia program

A good number of teams are already confirming their entries for the second season of the Blancpain GT Series Asia, and after having a sample during the first season in 2017, Japanese squad ARN Racing will make the definitive move to a full season in the continental competition.

ARN Racing joined the Blancpain GT Series Asia grid at the home events at Suzuka and Fuji, along with other names from the SuperTaikyu championship like D’Station Racing and race winners from CarGuy Racing, and ARN flirted with victory in some opportunities to come out with a fourth place as their highest finish, which was enough to convince driver and director Hiroaki Nagai to come back for more.

Like in 2017, the team will align a single Ferrari 488 GT3, and the Italian car had Spirit of Race and BBT as the main representatives, which won races overall along with podiums, though neither of the squads announced plans for a return, with Spirit of Race waiting for interested drivers and BBT coming from an LMP2 effort in the Asian Le Mans Series.

ARN Racing also confirmed its presence in the Suzuka 10 Hours, third round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, making its IGTC debut in the first edition of the race, which came to substitute the Super GT’s Suzuka 1000 km.

Only Hiroaki Nagai is confirmed in the seat of the Ferrari, with the other driver still to be announced.
