RallyX On Ice grid packed with talent

The winter season in rallycross is about to start with the famous RallyX On Ice that races in Sweden and Norway in February, but the 2018 edition will be quite special as World RX and RX2 stars and young guns will share the track with talented circuit racing names with nice titles in their resumes.

The name of the Team Penske was never related to rallycross despite having seen their fiercest rivals, Andretti Autosport and Chip Ganassi Racing, embracing the Global Rallycross, but current IndyCar champion Josef Newgarden and multiple Indy 500 polesitter and winner Hélio Castroneves will represent Mr. Penske’s name in the nordic winter championship, with each of them racing in a single event, as Newgarden competes at Ål and Castroneves will be present at Gol, though it isn't clear what team Hélio and JN will represent.

The other two drivers with partial programs in RallyX On Ice are the RX2 Series competitor Anders Michalak, joining the field at the Östersund opener and at Höljes, and the multitask American Austin Cindric, who will be present at these two rounds too.

Between the full time drivers list, World RX driver Kevin Eriksson and Euro RX driver Robin Larsson are the main attractions, joined by RX2 Series and GRC Lites champion Cyril Raymond. The RX2 Series group counts with Sondre Evjen, Vasily Gryazin and Jonathan Walfridsson, while the GRC Lites side is represented by Cole Keatts and Conner Martell. About the GRC, Olsbergs’ Oliver Eriksson is the only driver from the supercar class of the American championship.

Along with the RX2 cars, the RX Academy class will be in the support program with the Speedcar Xtreme for Crosskarts, counting with the presence of World RX regulars Timmy and Kevin Hansen as well Niclas Grönholm.
